Tool recycling

Clive, with the help of volunteers, collects tools from individuals and from Perth and Kinross Council Recycling Centres in Perth, preventing them from going to landfill.

These tools are then either passed onto a charity called Tools for Self Reliance, donated to a social enterprise in Dundee called SCRAPantics who runs a community tool library, donated to local garden groups, or sold at community fund raising events for Alyth Scouts. If you have tools to donate please contact Clive to arrange for collection.

Volunteer activities

Clive will run volunteer activities in Alyth Den (with permission from PKC) and on Alyth Community Woodland (with permission from FCS) for corporate and community groups. Tasks may include:

- hedge laying and coppice work
- footpath creation and maintenance,
- bike park maintenance,
- orchard maintenance and apple juicing,
- beech sapling pulling
- tree planting

Training and workshop activities

Clive will run training workshops on a variety of subjects. He works closely with Alyth Explorer Scouts to pass on skills and knowledge relating to outdoor activities, navigation, camp craft, climate change and wood craft skills.

Supporting young people to achieve

Clive uses his Mountain Leader qualification and skills to support local Duke of Edinburgh groups. He is available to train participants and both supervise groups and assess expeditions up to Gold level.
